Here at the fifth round of the Kuala Lumpur Chess Open 2010 played on the evening of the 9th April 2010 (Friday), the top four boards of the tournament ended in draws. This means the leader board has not changed. Today only one round of games is played as the morning was a rest period for the players.

Both Hou Yifan and Nguyen Anh Dung maintains their joint leadership with 4.5 points each going into the sixth round tomorrow morning, 10th April 2010. Here are the rest of the round 5 results as shown below:-
Fortunes of our Malaysian players: FM Nicholas Chan lost to GM Cao Sang on the sixth board, Ronnie Lim lost his game to an IM, Yeoh Li Tian drew his game against an IM (well done!), IM Jimmy Liew beat fellow Malaysian, Ismail Ahmad, Abdul Haq lost to a WGM, Marcus Yeoh lost to Ian Udani, PHI, Timothy Capel lost, Nik Ahmad Farouqi won, Mohd Nabil won against a WFM, Razali Hamzah drew against a fellow Malaysian, Ahmad Afiq Afyfy, WCM Nur Nabila won, Alfred Ting lost to fellow Malaysian, Amier Hamzah, WFM Nur Najiha won her game, and Najib Abdul Wahab breaks his duck and finally gets his first point of the tournament (well done!).
